of Croatian flora, which is surprisingly diverse. Drink in the magnificent scenery, rare plants, and breathtaking

Of course, the program of walks and excursions will leave enough time for the traditional resort pleasures.
Baška boasts a two-kilometer sand and shingle beach – the Great Beach (Vela Plaža) – considered by many to be the
best beach in Croatia. The tasty and healthy Mediterranean cuisine, supplemented by excellent wines and cheeses,
will be available to you too. And you can take advantage of special offers at the SPA and wellness center at your
hotel.

The seven-day program includes:
Guided tours through the valley of Baška Baška has
a surprisingly wide variety of environmental zones. Excursions around Baška allow you to learn
interesting facts about the area’s bio-diversity, as well as the agriculture that once sustained
the Croatian islands. Like collecting plants? Make your own herbarium in the Baška area!
Expedition to the Northern Velebit Botanical Garden and the bear
"kindergarten" Passing through the botanical garden in the Northern Velebit
National Park, you will find many interesting and rare plants. In particular, note the Degenia
velebitica, which is depicted on Croatian coins. You’ll also visit a kindergarten sanctuary
for orphaned bear cubs, which will delight every visitor. Supported by private donations, the
kindergarten cares for defenseless cubs and helps them return to their natural habitat.
Excursion to the Plitvice Lakes Delight in this
breathtaking corner of Croatia with its rich and unusual flora. Plitvice – a cascade of 16 lakes
with a total vertical drop of 133 meters – boasts a huge number of waterfalls and magnificently
colored waters. The Plitvice Lakes National Park has a total area of 297 square kilometers and is
the oldest national park in Southeast Europe.
Excursion to Koshlyun Island and its wine center,
Vrbnik Koshlyun, a small island located in the Bay of Punat, is cloistered
inside the island of Krk. Koshlyun serves as a refuge for the community of Franciscan monks and 540
species of plants and fungi! In Vrbnik the famous Zhlahtina (Žlahtina) is made – a
high-quality dry white wine. You will visit the vineyards, learn about wine and, of course, try
Zhlahtina and other local delicates such as cheese and prshut (smoked ham).

While on your Adriatic Botanical Discovery tour, you’ll stay at three- or four- star hotels in Baška, where all
trips and tours originate. You’ll ride in comfortable busses or vans, as well as recreational marine vessel (for
trips to the continent). During long trips, you’ll be offered a light lunch and drinks.
Certified guide Petar Tomašić, a renowned expert in local horticulture, will accompany you on hikes and
excursions.
